Very excited to read Collusion, which comes out in the US on October 1.
I've just finished Olen Steinhauer's first novel, The Bridge of Sighs — hardboiled police procedural set in an unnamed Eastern European country, immediately after the Second World War. I read The Tourist last year and was impressed. It's the first in a new series set in modern times, so I wanted to go back and pick up his original series. Highly recommended for fans of Philip Kerr and Alan Furst.
Gaz, the follow up to The Twelve - Collusion - is a very good read. A very slight supernatural edge to it - I mean very slight. A different book. In my view, not as strong as The Twelve, but well worth reading at the same time.
I've just finished The Riders by Tim Winton, a gifted Australian writer and am now half way into John Hart's The Last Child. The guy is compared to John Grisham. Very unfair, in my view. The Last Child is an excellent thriller and won the 2010 Edgar for best novel, which was well derseved.
