Anne - Partridge blows Gaiman out of the water in every conceivable comparison. So does Tim Willocks. Also, while MOST of Mathieson;s stuff feels dated (the majorit was written in the 50;s and 60;s) his short story/novella I Am Legend may be my favorite piece of writing ever. You should definitely try that story out. It was the basis for The Omega Man with Charlton Heston.

I loved I Am Legend and the other short stories that were with it.  My husband has insisted for years that I read Stephen King's The Gunslinger, so that's probably going to be the next thing I read.  After Algebra for Dummies, that is.   Roll Eyes

I finished Birdman by Mo Hayder yesterday. A very good read, but comig at the start of The Ashes, it took a while to finidh it off.

I won't be starting any more fiction before Christmas Day - I'll be catching up on some footie magazines.... Embarrassed

Picked up Bradbury's One More for the Road, finally.  Am enjoying reading it as much as I enjoyed listening to the audio version before the tape died.  And now I'll be able to finish as the %#$! tape died mid tape/in the middle of a story.  But I've got that problem licked with the book purchase.

Unless, of course, pages mysteriously fall out whilst I'm reading... Undecided

Well that's good Kevin, as you don't look like the lacy apron type to me.  Grin

There, Deb.  Kept you good for Santa by selflessly putting myself on the coal list...

Pleased to hear, Heidi. Let's face it, "lacy apron type" wouldn't exactly go with my "devilish/satanic" appearance, would it? Wink

A lacy apron wouldn't go well with your football boots and cricket bat either, Kevin... Wink

Oh I don't know.  If the devil's wearing Prada now, seems like just about anything would be a go, fashion-wise.  Grin
